When I finished writing `Return to My Soul in 2014, the inner journey that I describe in the book was by no means over. At the time, I didn’t know that opening up to my darkness and pain and discovering the light that lay beneath was only the beginning.
In the last chapter of the book, I wanted to leave the reader with an inner experience of the light that I had discovered within me. My hope was that the light would linger in the reader long after the final pages had been read. At the time, I was aware that I didn’t round the story off with an account of how my life was following the enormous transition that I had been through. The reason for this was simple. At the time of writing the book, I hadn’t arrived at closure. I was still `hanging in the air´, so to speak, trying to make sense of what I had experienced, trying to figure out what it would mean for me and my life.
I knew that I wanted to live from this beautiful place within for the rest of my life, and that in order to do so, I would have to free myself completely from the pain, fear and guilt that I continued to carry, but I had no idea what it would involve or how long it would take. Looking back, I can see that the journey has taken the time that it needed to take. It’s been exactly how it was meant to be.
The Art of Enlightenment describes the course of my own inner journey, but the book is not about me. It’s designed to support and guide you on your own inner journey, no matter where on your path you might be.
I want you to know the truth about yourself; I want you to know how to recognise the presence of your soul within you; I want you to know that it’s possible to resolve your difficulties and live as the beautiful, peaceful, and powerful being that you really are.
This book will help you if you feel restricted and bound inside and long to break free.
It will help you if your have breakthrough experiences of enlightenment and want to understand what you’re experiencing.
It will help you if, through some kind of crisis, your life has fallen apart and you’re experiencing darkness and pain and don’t understand what’s happening or why.
What I describe in The Art of Enlightenment is a universal process, but how we go through this process is unique for each of us. The events, the details will vary from person to person, but the underlying process is always the same.
More to come…
