The ultimate choice is the most important choice we will ever make. It is the choice between returning to the soul and remaining entrenched in the mind – between light and dark – between love and fear. All the other choices that we make are but a reflection of this one choice that we make at our core. It is a choice that we will have to make over and over and over again if we want to be whole, if we want to be free.
The ultimate choice is based on what we learn about the soul and what we learn about the mind during the process of moving back and forth between the two: discovering what each is like, knowing how they both `feel´, and knowing where we want to be.
This choice is also based on the discovery that we make during the process of moving back and forth that the movement from the soul to the mind is something that we initiate by thinking. That each time we choose to think, we automatically move from the soul to the mind. Knowing this, we can always choose between the beauty, peace, and power of our souls and the pain, fear, and guilt of our minds.
By choosing to return to our souls, we are undertaking a huge change in the way we live our lives. We are choosing the freedom to be what we really are; we are choosing to be true to what is right for us; we are choosing to follow our inner knowing no matter where it leads us. We are choosing love.
But, if we choose to return to our souls, making the choice in itself is not enough. The ultimate choice requires commitment. It requires patience. Also, if we want to return to our souls, there is work that needs to be done.
